One of the many splendour of living in Hong Kong is to experience the ups and downs of this cosmopolitan city the way locals would. This could take many forms, from eating at a little known joint in Sai Ying Pun to getting the best deals off (fake) leather goods in Cheung Chau, I often try to steer off the tourist-trodden path and introduce my visiting friends the best my second-home city has to offer.
The fireworks on National Day certainly fit the bill. As we took our spot on the Harbour City rooftop, there was a hint of mainlander’s Chinese around! (I am only saying) Apart from that swaying men who camwhored the whole night and startled everyone with his totally unexpected snaps of the sky, the crowd for the night was certainly well behaved… with some eye candies to help me pass time :P
Introducing the contingent from Singapore for the night; Liping (my travel buddy whom explored half of Europe with me), Tony (the SQ pilot whom had the, ehem, privilege of sharing many of life’s best moments with me… over pints of beer!) and Lilin (the lucky, lucky girls whom learned about my many quirks by just traveling once with me… to Morocco).
