The One With My Angst On Harry Potter 7

Harry Potter’s 7th installment, The Deathly Hallows, hit the cinemas in Singapore yesterday afternoon. Fans of Potter throughout the tiny island, I am sure, rejoiced in unison as the Boy Who Lived once again graced the silver screen.

But not me. Why? Because I am stuck here in Hong Kong. And to rub salt to my wound, the first part of the epic finale will only show here on 16 December, almost one whole month from today.

Injustice, this was. So spare me of any spoilers while I wallow in misery watching the trailers instead.

When’s part 2 coming out? My family’s watching it today… and I’ve heard nothing about this show in HK so far!

  2. Have no idea when Part 2 is coming out, but I am sure, like Part 1, it will be out in HK one month after everywhere else! Oh the injustice…

Injustice… you realized that it is all for the sake of fairness? They have to make sure the traditional subtitles and cantonese versions are available before they launch in HK. That’s what I heard… and gullible me thinks true!

  4. All in the name of profit, yes? It was launched in Singapore two days ago because it was the Hari Raya Haji holiday, and it is launching on 16th Dec in Hong Kong because of Christmas! If there’s a public holiday in HK this month, we would be joining the rest of the world in a tale of Harry, but alas…

In HK we usually get English-language movies like months after other countries. Check out my blog come January! I’ll try to give accurate reviews after I go back to SG~ :p

  6. By then I would have watched the movie already! LOL. Don’t be a spoilsport by feeding me spoilers!

See the discrepancy in release dates! To me the Asian release dates is like a list of how-long-I-take-to-translate-to-a-local-language!

  8. Yes, I know I know. Let’s not rub salt into our wounds. Hah. I guess you will still get to catch it in SG earlier than me?

31st Dec~ I’ll help you save a few dollars if its no good~ Very often I’ll remind myself that SQ’s movie selections are not necessarily fast, its more because of the fact that we get movies later than the rest of the world here in HK… makes me sound like a fool when I tell people how good a show is when people had already watched the show months ago!

  10. Are you kidding? I will never miss a Harry Potter movie, even if it is atrocious. I am a loyal fan. With so many rave reviews I am confident it will be good!

Sigh… 16th December is just so far away!
