Views of CBD

As I walk from Raffles Place MRT to Planet Fitness, my camera was busy snapping away at all those majestic high rise! These batch of photos are some of the best I ever taken, yet.

Party @ Balaclava

The time now is almost 3 a.m. Still they are continuing over at Zouk. True, it dwindled from 15+ to only 4 person, but still… I gotta admit I am old. I get tired easily.

The partying started somewhat with a few pre-party drinks in office. The mood was evidently lighter than the rest of the day because, for us OCBC-ians, our paychecks are in!

Made our way to Suntec soon later on. It was Happy Hour 1-for-1 all the way to 8, but the group was complete only sometime at 7. The place was so crowded at that hour – it was pretty hard to believe. Many are executives in their late twenties. I presumed they work at Suntec office towers.

The snacks – mussles, top shells, chicken wings – were delicious, and the company was hilarious. I bumped into Xiao En and Chee Keong there too. Man, we all feel so grown up! Got to know both of them are single now, but XE keep insisting it won’t be for long. Way to go, Yirong!

By the time the clock hits ten, most of us are pissed. Things changed when the boss arrived (someone to settle the bill! yay!) and we moved off to Emerald Hill to find Ben who left us earlier on to find his SIA stweardesses friends.

At Ice Cold, our partying continued with more drinks and snacks. Some rumours were spreading – better not mention anything in the public. Heh.

I was getting drowsily sleepy. By 2, Jude sent me home. Surprisingly, I felt safe being on his bike this time.

I must have been damn pissed. Now it’s time to sleep.

Blogstrolling.. and true friends

Been blogstrolling. Haven’t been doing that enough lately.

CowboyCaleb mentioned something that tugged at my heart string:

“The all-night event playing Mario Party was an attempt to recapture our friendship like the way it was when we were still kids. It may be the last time we get to do such things as I’ve got my own life and she’s got her own life and we’re both busy busy busy people. The fun of both of us doing something irresponsible and naughty while snogging beer and screaming obscene words at the top of our voices in the wee hours of the morning and then feeling rotten the next day because we didn’t get enough sleep.

Isn’t that just vilely juvenile fun?

So I guess a true friend is somebody you don’t really outgrow but rather somebody who grows with you”

As I look back at my almost 6 years in Singapore, my number of true friends can be counted with 5 fingers. Thanks dudes and dudess. You know who you are. Love you all.

Idol Injustice

Maybe it was the beer talking.

As much as I was shocked on how Scott somehow managed to stay in the top group this round, I can’t imagine the bottom two to be Anthony and Constantine. Though Anthony was my favorite, I don’t want Constantine to go either. I mean. You can idolise someone for whatever blind reason you might have, but it is obvious who has the better talent. I was preparing for the worse to happen. Inevitable, yes, that Anthony will get the boot.

Constantine was announced the idol wannabe leaving the stage tonight. I was shocked. So is Paula. The gasp was almost audible among the audience. And when Paula hugged Constantine’s mum, I was moved to tears. Yeah, call me silly, but you know, celebrities are human too.

I vividly remember how Simon said that Constantione’s “smoldering” eyes win hands down. Let’s see how true this is.

Eyes No. 1
Eyes No. 1

Eyes No. 2
Eyes No. 2

Eyes No. 3
Eyes No. 3

Some eyes can really kill. If you can get what I mean. I know mine are beautiful, but Constantine’s… well, girls, I am sure I speak on your behalf.

Dancing Skeleton

This is one of the coolest animation I ever seen.

Dancing Skeleton (opens in new window)

Best viewed with break dance music (read: MJ) playing.

Asking for Trouble

“Saffy approached. Or more accurately, her breasts approached. The rest of her followed. I wondered how a girl so petite could support a bosom that formidable and it was all I could do not to strike a conversation with them”

Oh, this new book by Jason Hanh is soooo freaking funny!

No Food In The House!

I grasped my ample tummy and feel panic enveloping my cholestrol-laden heart. OMG, I am going to starve tonight!

Wait! Wait! Don’t panic. There must be a way out of this. Relax and think.

(Strike zen-pose) *Hummmmmmmmmmm*

Oh yes! I remember now! My two box of cereals!

I’m saved!

Coco Crunch & Honey Star! As I hold the boxes in my hand, I feel such blessing. God knows I am hungry. But then… shit! I don’t have milk! The one I bought must have solidified into semi-solid tofu over the week! So I ran up to my fridge (tripping over some fucking thing on the floor) and take out my carton of milk, careful not to hold it too near my nose…

…. and the expiry date is 2nd May! God Bless Hilo Milk! I was feeling so jubilant that it will be almost indecent to see that grin on my face as I rip open…

… the box of Coco Crunch….

… and the box of Honey Star…

… and in went the milk! Splash! I feel such glee seeing the brown and yellow thingies floating in pure white milk. I pour the whole damn thing into the bowl.

TADAA! My supper! I am saved! *dance around*

P.S: As I download the photos from my camera I realize there is another photo I took yesterday. Also of food.

One curry fish head. One yam ring. Two hungry men. (Few minutes later) Two full men. (Few days later) Only one fatter man. F*ck

P.S.S: Then I remembered my lunch today – nasi lemak, barley ice, followed by a salmon sandwich with potato chips and coffee, followed by Irish Whiskey Bailey ice cream. My God

P.S.S.S: I finished my bowl of cereals by the time I finish typing the second sentence above. I think I need help

Movie Ticket Petition

Do you know now you have to pay S$9.50 for a movie show during the weekend?

“In view of the price hike by 3 companies (Shaw Organisation, Eng Wah Organisation and Golden Village) from 16 May 2005 onwards, singaporeans should not stand down towards the three companies which comprise the Cinematograph Film Exhibitors Association (CFEA).

This 3 companies have gone ahead of the Jan 2006 ‘price-fixing’ law which forbids companies from directly or indirectly fixes purchases or selling prices. It also prohibits the abuse of market power by a dominant player (or a group of them) to drive out competitiors, which clearly is shown in this example of raising of Movie Ticket’s prices.

In this case, since the law is not underway yet and the companies have jump ahead to raise the price before the law gets to them. There is nothing that can be done EXCEPT for us consumers to unite and go against these 3 companies.”

Do something. Be heard.

Let Me Sleep!

OMG! So cute!!!

The Best PC-Illusion

This is without a doubt one of the coolest PC illusion I have seen so far. Follow the instructions:

1) Relax and concentrate on the 4 small dots in the middle of the picture for about 30-40 seconds
2) Then, take a look at a wall near you (any smooth, single coloured surface)
3) You’ll see a circle of light developing
4) Start blinking your eyes a couple of times and you will see a figure emerging
5) What do you see? Moreover, who do you see?
